developed a love of fitness as a swimmer, served as a junior coach and competed through college. As an adult, she discovered the joy of running and strength training and became a group exercise instructor and personal trainer at OneLife in Brambleton.
Ali taught and coached at the middle school level in Columbus, Ohio for eight years before moving to Virginia. While working with youth, she knows it’s important to keep fitness fun. Her positive and up-beat coaching style encourage and motivate athletes to develop the enthusiasm necessary to sustain a life long commitment to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Providing information to stay healthy and injury free, guidance and feedback to set and achieve goals, and encouragement to increase confidence, are her three goals when coaching young athletes.
“When our family moved to Brambleton in 2013, BKRTN was one of our first introductions to the community. As a new Bram resident, I was looking for a welcoming group where we could meet other kids and parents with similar interests. I loved the idea that families with young children of varying ages could be active in the community, supporting important causes while spending time together being outside and exercising. I am thrilled to join BKRTN as a coach!”
Each season, we also have several high school runners serving as Junior Coaches to help support our program. These runners and responsible athletes serve as great role models for the younger runners!
